Tags are used to classify and organize games in Flashpoint for easier searching.  Here, they have been organised into categories.  You may use multiple tags per game, and you can use the category headers as tags too (except ''Themes'', ''Content Warnings'', ''Animations'', ''Franchises'' and ''Game Engines''). Tags can be applied to either games or animations, but the most common [[#Animations|Animation tags]] are listed in their own section for your convenience. If there is a tag that you feel would be useful, please ask a Staff Member on the Discord server, and we'll see if it's something that should be added.  We don't want tags to be too specific, to the point where a tag exists solely for one game.

== Game Engines ==
<span style="font-size: 1.2em;">'''Events'''</span>

Game Engines are any programming tool used to make games at a Higher Level than using the tech directly. Note: Techs don't count as Game Engines, for example the ShiVa3D Engine is used to make ShiVa3D plugin games but ShiVa3D games shouldn't be tagged. Also if the engine has a web client, it shouldn't be tagged as that Engine, for example Tic80 shouldn't be tagged Tic80. At least three games in Flashpoint should be created in an engine to warrant a tag for that engine.

== Franchises ==
Tags that are associated with a particular franchise or intellectual property, web-game related or not. Note: A game or animation does not need to be ''officially'' part of a franchise for its tag to be applicable. In other words, fan-made games and animations based on a particular franchise can still use their respective franchise tag even if they weren't developed/published by the owners of the IP. At least three games in Flashpoint should be based around a franchise to warrant a tag for that franchise.
